Ben Mather Digital

    Web designer, New Zealand

A New Zealand web designer for businesses that want to be found.

I work with small businesses across New Zealand. Accommodation in Marlborough, trades in Auckland, studios in Wellington. Custom-designed, SEO-ready sites, with a working version you can click around before any money changes hands.

    What you actually get.

    • Genuinely custom. Designed for your business, not a template.
    • SEO sorted from day one, not bolted on later.
    • You see a working prototype before paying.
    • Hosting taken care of for you. You own your domain. I can also sort a Google Workspace email if you need one.
    • Worked with businesses from Cape Reinga to Bluff. Distance is not a thing.

Most NZ small businesses fall into a gap. Too small for a $20k agency project. Too important to leave on a generic Squarespace template. That gap is what I do.

Everything is built properly under the hood, so pages load fast, Google likes them, and the words are written for actual humans rather than stuffed with keywords. Several of the sites in my portfolio sit at #1 on Google for their main search term in NZ.

How it works: you describe what you need, I build a working version of it, then send you a link. You poke around it on your phone or laptop. If it's right, we go ahead. If it's not, you walk. No invoice, no awkward call.

Most of the work happens over email, phone and short video calls, so it doesn't matter where you're based in New Zealand. I'm in Wellington, but a third of my clients are in other regions.
